Data Moderation tools in place and the first official Data Moderator joins Kenmei. Plus some extra minor improvements here and there

This month I've been working on finalising Data Moderator tools, in preparation for onboarding our first Data Moderator. I've had time to do some minor fixes and improvements as well.

👥 Data Moderators

I am thrilled to announce that I am no longer the sole moderator of Kenmei content—tasks like reviewing suggested series, enhancing descriptions, covers, tags, and so on. There has always been a plan to engage volunteers in moderating Kenmei, but the necessary tools were not yet in place.

Starting this month, Ajabun, who you might recognize as one of our Discord moderators, will join me in continually improving the Kenmei database. For you, this means that reports will be resolved more quickly, and, eventually, it will also allow me to fully focus on developing Kenmei while leaving moderation tasks to our volunteers.

For now, I am starting with just one moderator, but I will open applications to everyone in the future. If you are interested, feel free to join our Discord and stay tuned to the announcements.

📝 Completed Status Auto-Update

Continuing with the trend of building highly requested features from our Suggestions board, I've added an automatic chapter update when marking the entry as Completed.

Now, when marking an entry as Completed, Kenmei will automatically set the latest read chapter to the last available, unless you manually select one yourself. Hopefully, this minor QoL improvement will make your list management a bit easier.

As you can see, this month's updates are limited in number. I was focused on onboarding our first Data Moderator, which has now been successfully completed, so the main goal has been achieved, and I am very pleased with that. However, due to relocating from Japan back to the UK, I've been occupied with day-to-day tasks and have not made much progress on feature development.

Nevertheless, I plan to go full throttle in May. I am hoping to advance some remaining crucial features, such as adding the Rating System. There are also many pending improvements to the Dashboard that aim to provide the same functionality as the Profile’s Library and Advanced Search.
