Update #4

I am super excited to share that I've just released a huge update. It took longer than I was hoping for, but I managed to do a lot more than I originally intended, so all is fair.

So without further ado, here what you can now do on the website:

  1. Manga series are now persisted, whatever through import or adding individually.

  2. You can now select from multiple lists. You will have 3 initial lists (Reading, On-Hold and Plan to Read)

  3. Trakr.moe full import of MangaDex entries. It will import all your lists, including custom ones you've made

A couple of notes on the new functionality:

  • I currently only import from full Trackr.moe JSON export file, that you can find in Options. I know you can get individual ones per list, but those won't work, so please do get the one in Options.

  • While I extensively tested new functionality, there could, of course, be bugs hiding. You can always delete what you've imported, including everything in the list, so that you can try again. If you still see some issues, please do let me know through any of the channels (Twitter, GitHub, Email), so that I can fix it. I need your help to find all the edge-cases that are out there.

  • Currently, the performance is not fantastic when switching between lists, if you have hundreds of series. I will fix this, but I decided its low priority at the moment. But if you do find it really bad, let me know and I'll prioritise it higher. When trying out a list of 700+ entries, while it wasn't the smoothest experience, it was mostly fine, so I expect most of you to not ever hit this issue.

  • The mobile experience is a bit degraded due to various new UI elements, I'll be fixing those up in the near future, so for the optional experience do use a laptop or PC for now.

Now, what's next? While I mentioned in the previous update that I will move onto the other important feature: Getting new chapter releases synced, I will first take a bit of time to clean up the new code and see if any bugs will arise as you start using the app.

I also plan to add list management fairly soon, as it was mostly done during this work. So you could start adding new lists, edit existing ones and move manga series across lists.

So after that, I will continue in the same order as previously mentioned. I am super excited to see it starting to come together and I hope you too. As usual, don't hesitate to reach out to ask any questions, report bugs or give any suggestions on current or future functionality.
