Public Profile Libraries are launched, including Search Engine v2 being released across the whole app

As promised, this month sees the next feature added to Profiles -> ability to view your own as well as others' libraries. With Search Engine v2 now being supported everywhere, you can now even filter others' library lists! Read below for more details

📋Changelog

📚 Profile Library (Early Access)

I am very excited to have finished Library view in Profiles!

You can now view others' lists, provided they have their profile public or you are friends. This also comes with the ability to filter by Reading Status, Content Type and Genres & Tags (these will be released in your Dashboard as well in the near future)

I've also added additional privacy functionality -> you will find "Hidden" checkbox when editing or adding a series, which will make it so the series won't show up in your Activity Feed or Library.

With Profile Overview and Library out of the way, all that remains before this feature is released publically, is the Statistics page, Friendship system as well as minor bits & pieces, like searching users.

👤Usernames & Onboarding

As mentioned previously, with Profiles now gradually being released, everyone now has a username on the platform, separate from the email they've registered.

Premium Members had an opportunity to set their usernames early, but now everyone can set their usernames, so head over to Settings and update your username today, as everyone has a generic one now, which I am sure you wouldn't want to keep!

With that in mind, I've now added the first Onboarding step for all new members, making it possible to set the profile picture and username as the first action. This will eventually expand, to make it easier for everyone to add their first entries as well as familiarise themselves with Kenmei features.

📈Progress Overview

This month I've continued working on the User Profiles, adding the Library view, just as per the plan outlined last month. I think it turned out very well and it's been a lot of fun to finally view others' lists.

In February, I am hoping to finally finish the last remaining bits to get this feature out of Early Access. Specifically adding a Friend System, the ability to search users as well as doing the first pass on the Statistics Page.

Here's the updated list of priorities:

  1. Profile Page Library

  2. Friend System

  3. Additional Privacy Settings

  4. Profile Page Stats
